Russ Longley has a diverse work experience that spans several decades. Russ began their career in the U.S. Navy in 1960, where they served as a U.S. Naval Unrestricted Line Officer & Aviator. During this time, they flew the F8 Crusader jet and held senior positions as a junior officer. Longley also gained the skills to analyze data and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, 3-dimensional environment. In 1968, they joined Trans World Airlines (TWA) as an Airline Captain, flying global routes and obtaining various certifications and roles within the organization. In 2003, Longley transitioned to CMC Electronics, working as an Avionics Sales Consultant. Russ played a key role in landing retrofit avionics flight deck upgrades for legacy aircraft. Lastly, in 2019, Longley joined Astronautics Corporation of America as an Avionics Sales Contractor. In this role, they organized and led tech meetings, leveraging their technical education, military experience, and avionics expertise to create solid working relationships and deliver viable solutions.
