Debasish Mahapatra

Debasish Mahapatra has extensive work experience in the shipping industry. Debasish started their career in 2004 as a General Manager at JM Baxi and Company, where they worked until 2007. In the same year, they joined Oman Shipping Company SAOC as a General Manager-Commercial-Tanker & Gas. Their responsibilities included managing operations related to fleet expansion and maximizing profit through efficient vessel employment. Debasish also worked on minimizing risk areas by coordinating with P&I clubs and underwriters. In 2023, they joined Asyad Shipping as the Vice President Commercial, where they continue to work.

Debasish Mahapatra completed their education at Delhi University. From 1984 to 1986, they obtained a Post Graduate degree in International Politics. Debasish further pursued their studies from 1985 to 1989, completing a Post Graduate and Mphil in International Politics, as well as a Diploma in Marketing & Sales, MICS, London, with a focus on International Politics, Shipping & Logistics. Additionally, they hold certifications as a Qualified Internal auditor for ISO and has completed a Certified Chemical Tanker Training Course. Debasish is also a member of the Institute of Chartered and Shipbrokers in London.
