Sona Bairamian

Sona Bairamian has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Sona is currently working as the Director of Materials Science at Atara Biotherapeutics since April 2020. Prior to this role, they worked at Takeda from February 2019 to March 2020, where they were the Engineering Validation System's Lead - Associate Director Global Material Qualification. Their responsibilities included developing and designing the global material qualification strategy, managing and training a global team, and supporting audits and author submissions. Before Takeda, Sona held various roles at Shire, Baxalta, Baxter International Inc., Grifols, Amgen, and PYRAMID Laboratories Inc., where they gained experience in validation engineering, managing material qualification programs, and overseeing validation activities.

Sona Bairamian attended California State Polytechnic University-Pomona from 1997 to 2001, majoring in Chemistry.
