Elena Plis

Elena Plis is a Senior Research Engineer at Georgia Tech Research Institute since November 2019 and has served as a Space Environment Scientist at Assurance Technology Corporation since December 2015. At Assurance Technology Corporation, Elena's work involves the characterization of spacecraft materials in simulated GEO environments, investigation of arcing behavior on solar panels, and management of diverse research projects. Previous roles include Research Scientist II at SK Infrared, LLC, focused on the development of infrared sensors, and various research positions at the University of New Mexico, where Elena contributed to crystal growth and fabrication of infrared detectors. Elena holds a PhD in Optoelectronics from the University of New Mexico, completed in 2007.
