Shane Beyer

Research And Development Engineer, Neurophysiology at ATEC Spine

Shane Beyer has a range of work experiences in neurophysiology, neuromodulation, computational neuroethology, prosthetic development, and tissue engineering. Their most recent role is as a Research and Development Engineer in Neurophysiology at Alphatec Spine, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Duke University, working in the Grill Lab for neuromodulation from February 2022 to February 2023, and in the Dunn Lab for computational neuroethology from August 2021 to February 2022. They also had an internship as a Prosthetic Development Intern at Puspadi Bali from June 2020 to August 2020. In 2019, Shane worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Truskey Lab for tissue engineering at Duke University from January 2019 to July 2019.

Shane Beyer began their education at Steinbrenner High School from 2013 to 2017, where they completed their high school studies. In 2017, they enrolled at Duke University and pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Philosophy. Shane successfully graduated from Duke University in 2021. During their undergraduate studies, in 2019, Shane participated in a Study Abroad Program at the University of Sydney. After completing their bachelor's degree, they joined Duke University's Graduate School in 2021, where they are currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering. Additionally, they are working towards obtaining a certificate in Neural Engineering.
