Mike Oakes has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Mike began their career as a Technician at Gould CSD in 1985 and later joined Encore Computer Corporation as a Senior Customer Engineer in 1990. In this role, they were responsible for maintaining hardware for real-time flight simulators at Sikorsky Aircraft.

In 1997, Oakes joined Silicon Graphics Inc as a Field Technical Analyst. Here, they provided level 2 worldwide field support, specializing in designing, integrating, and troubleshooting media space and HPC clustered environments. Mike was also a charter member of SGI's SDRB (San Design Review Board).

Oakes then moved to DataDirect Networks in 2006, where they initially served as a Field Applications Engineer. In this position, they worked until 2008, handling RFP responses, solution design, proposals, and team training and development. Mike was then promoted to the role of Manager, Rich Media, where they continued overseeing the technical aspects of the USA-based team.

In 2010, Oakes joined DataDirect Networks again, this time as the Technical Director, Cloud Content and Media. Mike played a crucial role in this capacity until 2013, providing technical leadership and expertise in cloud-based solutions.

Next, Oakes joined MelroseTEC in 2013 as the Director of Enterprise Technology and Services. Mike held this position until 2015, overseeing the company's enterprise technology and services operations.

In 2015, Oakes joined DDN Storage as a Sales Engineer, responsible for promoting and selling the company's solutions. Mike excelled in this role until 2018.

Currently, Oakes is working at Atempo as a Pre-sales Senior Solutions Architect, a position they have held since 2019.
