Shamim Mirzai

Shamim Mirzai has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles.

In 1990, Shamim began their career at Salomon Brothers as an Analyst Sales & Trading (VP), where they worked until 1997.

From 1997 to 1999, Shamim worked as the Founder of CLMP Software.

Following this, they joined DSC Ltd as a Solutions Architect from 1999 to 2002.

In 2002, Shamim moved to Safmarine as an e-Commerce Team Leader, where they worked until 2004.

From 2004 to 2008, Shamim served as the IT Director and co-founder of One Circle International, responsible for setting up the company's web development and hosting division.

In 2008, Shamim joined Mumsnet as a Java Developer, contributing to the development of new features for the website. In 2013, they were promoted to Head of Engineering and Data, where they led the company's technical strategy and implementation until 2019.

Since 2019, Shamim has been working at Atheneum, initially as a DevOps Engineer responsible for migrating systems to AWS and subsequently as the Head of Data Engineering, overseeing data engineering operations.

Shamim Mirzai received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from the University of Exeter, which they attended from 1986 to 1989. In addition to their formal education, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services in May 2018.
