Wendy Cowan

Wendy Cowan serves as the Department Chair for the Professional Studies in Education at Athens State University since 2002, overseeing various service courses, technical education programs, and minors, and has contributed to the development of several educational minors and program revisions. In addition to department chair responsibilities, Wendy acts as a Professor of Education, leading multiple courses and supervising field experience while also advising and mentoring adjunct faculty. With prior roles including Assistant Professor of Health and Physical Education and teaching as an adjunct professor at the University of West Alabama and Middle Tennessee State University, Wendy holds a Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance, an M.Ed. in Exercise Physiology and Health Promotion, and a B.S. Ed. in Physical Education.
