Ronald Lukassen has extensive work experience in the risk management and asset management field. Ronald started their career as an intern at ING Investment Management in 1997 and went on to work as an asset manager at OPTAS from 1998 to 2000. Ronald then joined AEGON Asset Management as a portfolio manager for fixed-income investments from 2000 to 2003. After that, they worked at De Nederlandsche Bank in the risk policy department until 2007. In 2007, they joined SNS REAAL as a senior risk policy advisor before being promoted to head of the insurance risk management department and then head of the group actuarial department. In 2014, they moved to VIVAT as the director of financial risk and later became the managing director of risk until 2021. Currently, Ronald Lukassen is serving as the managing director of actuarial risk at Athora Netherlands.
Ronald Lukassen began their education journey in 1993 at the University of Groningen, where they pursued a degree in Econometrics and successfully earned a Drs. degree in 1998. After completing their undergraduate studies, Ronald furthered their education at the AIMR - CFA Institute from 1999 to 2001, focusing on Investments and obtaining a CFA degree.
In 2003, Ronald enrolled at the University of Amsterdam to study Actuarial Science. Although no degree name is specified for this period, it can be inferred that they pursued further education in the field. Ronald continued their academic pursuits at the Actuarial Instituut from 2005 to 2008, earning an AAG degree in Actuarial studies.
