Gina Buchanan (she/her/hers)

Gina Buchanan has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Gina worked at Koru Coaching & Consulting from 2000, where they focused on individual, team, and organizational development initiatives in leadership, communication, and diversity and inclusion. In 2014, they co-created and partnered with Salubrity!, offering workplace mental health services to clients such as the LGLMA, District of West Vancouver, and the City of Langley. From 2002 to 2017, Gina worked as a faculty member at the Justice Institute of British Columbia, teaching courses on leadership and instructional development. Gina also joined BCIT in 1999 as a faculty member for the Associate Certificate in Leadership program. Gina's most recent role was as the Director of Talent Development at Atira Women's Resource Society, where they led capacity building initiatives and created various organizational development programs. Gina also served as the Senior Manager of Educational Development at Kwantlen Polytechnic University from 2017 to 2020, spearheading initiatives to support educators and enhance educational practice.

Gina Buchanan has a diverse education history. Gina pursued a Doctorate of Education, specializing in Educational Leadership, at The University of British Columbia, which was completed in 2020. Prior to that, Gina obtained a Master's Degree in Education, with a focus on Postsecondary, Curriculum, and Instruction, from Simon Fraser University in 2010. Gina also completed the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program at Vancouver Community College. Gina holds a Certificate in Human Resource Management (Honours) from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, which they earned in 1998. Furthermore, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University in 1989.

Additionally, Gina is currently in progress of obtaining a Co-Active Coaching Certification from the Co-Active Training Institute. Gina also holds certifications in IDI Administration from IDI, LLC and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention from The Mandt System.
