Cara Curtis is an experienced development professional with a strong background in nonprofit fundraising and communications. Currently serving as a Senior Development Officer at the Atlanta Botanical Garden since October 2019, Cara manages grant requests, donor communications, and strategic fundraising initiatives. Prior to this role, Cara was the Director of Foundation Relations & Grants at WABE, where institutional fundraising efforts were led for the NPR station and local PBS television. Cara has extensive consulting experience, having worked as the Communications Director at Coxe Curry & Associates, where over two decades, more than 100 nonprofit clients were supported across various fundraising initiatives. Previous positions include Program Director at the National Institute for Community Empowerment and Consultant for the North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development. Cara holds a BA in English literature and art history from the University of Virginia and an MBA focused on marketing and public relations from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business.
