Katharine Sagar is the director of events and flagship convenings in the Office of External Relations. She graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, and minors in Political Science and Middle East Studies. She spent a summer in Geneva, Switzerland as a member of the Northeastern Student Delegation to the United Nations. The group met with foreign leaders, diplomats, and grassroots organizations to discuss the topics of disarmament, nonproliferation, and the progress of the Arms Trade Treaty. In the fall of 2009, Katharine spent a semester at the American University in Cairo where she studied intensive Arabic, foreign policy in the Middle East, and human rights conditions in Egypt. Katharine completed internships in the international education, lobbying, and nonprofit sectors while in college. After graduation, she excelled in the event management field before joining the Atlantic Council. She is proficient in Arabic and continues to explore her interest in international relations, conflict negotiation, Middle East affairs, US counter-terrorism efforts, and human rights.
