Dominick Barrett is the Managing Director at Atlantic Star Consulting. Dominick has over six years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on financial analysis and reporting.
Dominick began their career as an Economics Tutor at the National University of Ireland, Galway. Dominick then spent a year as a Currency Advisor at the NUI Galway Student Managed Fund before joining the Central Bank of Ireland in July 2014.
At the Central Bank of Ireland, Dominick was responsible for the collection, quality control and analysis of SPV and FVC reporting. Dominick also oversaw the duplication of the FVC statistical return for roll-out to non-FVC Section 110 companies in August 2015, and reformatted and upgraded existing FVC/SPV statistical guidelines issued to industry in order to enhance data quality. In addition, Dominick was responsible for the collection, quality control and analysis of certain MMIF (Investment Funds) and MMF (Money Market Funds) statistical returns.
Dominick co-authored publications along with Central Bank senior economists in the Central Bank Quarterly Bulletin (Q4-2016) and the Bank for International Settlements on the findings of the new SPV reporting.
After their time at the Central Bank, Dominick took a career break for a number of months in order to travel and explore new opportunities. Dominick then joined Atlantic Star Consulting as Managing Director in December 2016.
Dominick Barrett has a Master's degree in International Finance from the University of Galway, a Higher Diploma in Economics from the University of Galway, and a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Galway.
