We are seeking a skilled and motivated Crew Chief to lead our surveying teams in the field. As a Crew Chief, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing surveying operations, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects while leading a talented team of surveying professionals. Candidates must have at least 3 years’ experience as a Crew Chief in the land survey profession.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise survey crews in the field, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.

  • Conduct field surveys using advanced surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and data collectors.

  • Perform boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and other surveying tasks as required.

  • Interpret survey data and prepare accurate field notes, sketches, and reports.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Maintain survey equipment in proper working condition and perform routine maintenance as needed.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for the survey crew.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, 3 years as a Crew Chief with a proven track record of leadership.

  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.

  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and methodologies.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record, that meets company requirements.

  • Proficiency in OSHA safety regulations.

  • Must be willing and able to enroll in OSHA and other compliance and policy programs.

  • The ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift 75 lbs. Mental and physical labors are to be expected.

  • Honest, dependable, thorough, safety-conscious, and possessing a strong work ethic.

  • Must be self-driven with little to no supervision.
