Richard Decker's work experience begins in 2005, where they initially worked as a Network Technician at Northwest Telephone, Inc. In the same year, they also started their own business called Decker Computer Consulting as the Owner. Richard then worked as a Microsoft Global Network Operations Center Technician at National Communication Systems from February to September 2005.

From 2007 to 2008, Decker worked as a Network Engineer at ACS Dataline, and subsequently moved to Black Box Network Services where they held the role of Network Engineer from September 2007 to December 2009. During their time at Black Box Network Services, they also took on the role of Senior Network Engineer from September 2007 to April 2012.

Starting in April 2012, Decker joined APCON as a Professional Services Network Engineer, and then transitioned to the role of Senior Network Engineer from February 2017 to February 2018.

Most recently, Decker worked at Atmosera as a Senior Network Engineer from February 2018 to February 2020. Richard then took on the role of Cloud Architect from February 2020 until the present.

Throughout their work experience, Decker has been responsible for various aspects of networking and connectivity, including vendor management, consulting with internal and external teams, and designing connectivity solutions.

Richard Decker earned a Bachelor's degree in Network and Communications Management from DeVry University, completing their studies from 2001 to 2005. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the following:

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert from Microsoft in June 2022.

- Cisco Certified Networking Professional -Enterprise from Cisco in February 2020.

- Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Advanced Infrastructure Implementation from Cisco in February 2020.

- Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Core from Cisco in February 2020.

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate from Microsoft in April 2019.

- Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching) from Cisco in July 2006.

- Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching (CCNP Routing and Switching) from Cisco in July 2011.
