John Restivo

John Restivo has extensive experience in the technology and film industry. John started their career in 2008 at RED Digital Cinema, where they served as a Product Support Specialist. Their responsibilities included servicing clients, providing sales support, and dealing with international shipping and customs. John was later promoted to Level 2 premiere customer service and technical support for rental houses and large-scale productions.

In 2012, John worked as a freelance RED Camera Technician, specializing in supporting productions primarily shot on RED camera systems. John enhanced the on-set experience for producers and directors of photography by providing technical expertise on the camera and its accessories.

From 2014 to 2019, John held the position of VR Director of Photography at NextVR (acquired by Apple). John managed the camera department and played a crucial role in growing the startup company from under 5 employees to over 100. John also oversaw the deployment of proprietary camera systems for use in live broadcast virtual reality environments.

In 2019, John worked as a Digital Imaging Technician, providing on-set support and assisting the Director of Photography in a digital production environment. John was responsible for camera origination, recording, transfers, and data integrity.

Most recently, John joined ATOMOS in 2021 as the West Coast Sales Manager. John later transitioned to the role of Senior Sales Engineer in 2022.

John Restivo attended California State University, Fullerton from 2004 to 2007. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio-TV-Film.
