Chris Carmello

Chris Carmello, CSP, currently serves as the Environmental Health & Safety Manager at Interface Flooring since July 2018 and as the Health and Safety Manager at Auburn University since July 2016. At Auburn University, Chris has successfully reduced fire events in dormitories by 83%, improved machine shop compliance to 98%, and achieved AAALAC recertification until 2021 while overseeing safety for over 28,290 students and 1,200 employees across more than 300 buildings. Previous experience includes the role of EHS & Security Assistant Manager at Hyundai Powertech America, where Chris managed comprehensive safety, health, and security programs, and Senior Safety & Health Engineer at Yamaha Motor Corporation, where Chris led key safety initiatives for a large manufacturing site. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science and a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from Auburn University.
