Enrique Funke has over 20 years of experience in various roles within the telecommunications industry. Enrique has a strong background in sales and business development, primarily focused on service providers and carriers in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.
Enrique started their career as the Commercial Director at Cables de Comunicaciones, where they were responsible for sales, marketing, and commercial plans. Enrique then moved on to Telefónica, where they held two positions as Director, overseeing marketing and billing processes and systems, as well as commercial processes and systems. During their time at Telefónica, they played a key role in defining strategic directions for the company in billing systems, customer care systems, and sales force automation.
In 2001, Enrique joined Level 3 Communications as a Sales Director, where they developed business from scratch and worked with large customers like Telefonica. Enrique then moved to Tekelec, where they were responsible for business development and commercial activities in Spain and Portugal, focusing on wireless and wireline service providers.
From 2007 to 2010, Enrique worked at BroadSoft as a Sales Director, in charge of commercial activities related to service providers and carriers in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. Enrique then joined Ezentis Tecnología (Avanzit) as a Business Development Director, focusing on complex multimedia IP networks, mobility real-time applications, and location-based services.
Enrique also has experience as a Board Advisor at CloudTel, providing executive and board consulting on state-of-the-art technologies in the telecommunications sector. Additionally, they served as a member of the Board of Directors at COIT_AEIT Colegio Oficial y Asociación Española de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación, where they performed official representation for the institution in relationships with public administration, telecom market regulators, and industry associations.
Most recently, Enrique held the position of Regional Sales Director, Spain & Portugal at AudioCodes, where they were responsible for sales and channel management for communication service providers, ISVs, solutions providers, system integrators, and multinational corporations.

Enrique Funke's education history begins with their secondary education at Antiguo Alumno Marista, where they studied Physical Sciences from 1968 to 1974. Enrique then pursued a degree in Telecomunicación (Telecommunications) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and obtained their Ingeniero (Engineer) degree from 1975 to 1981. Enrique furthered their education at the same institution, completing their Ph.D. in Telecomunicación (Telecommunications) from 1982 to 1990.
