Helena Gray currently serves as the Controller of Audit at Audit Scotland since January 2023 and has held various significant positions within the Scottish Government since November 2017, including Interim Director of Fair Work, Employability and Skills, Deputy Director of Climate Change (Domestic), and Deputy Director of Marine Planning and Policy. Prior to these roles, Helena Gray was Deputy Director of Strategy & Corporate Affairs and Senior Policy Advisor at the Scotland Office from July 2012 to November 2017, and worked as Programme Manager and Team Leader overseeing UN programmes and policy at the Department for International Development from September 2011 to July 2012. Helena Gray began a career at HM Treasury, contributing as Team Leader for Child Poverty Policy and as an Economist/Policy Advisor from October 2004 to July 2010. Helena Gray holds a BA hons in Economics from Durham University, earned between 2001 and 2004.
