Nathaniel Wetzel

Nathaniel Wetzel is a seasoned software engineer and technical leader with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as Senior Staff Technical Lead Manager and Software Engineer at Aurora since April 2019, Nathaniel leads the Simulation Apps team, ensuring the safe and efficient development of autonomy software. Previous roles at Aurora included Staff Technical Lead Manager and Technical Lead Manager, where Nathaniel focused on creating innovative applications for visualizing vehicle sensor data and simulation scenarios. Prior experience at General Dynamics Mission Systems spanned over a decade in various software engineering roles, contributing to significant projects like GEM One and CPOF. Nathaniel began a career in software development with early internships and co-op positions at institutions such as the University of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center. Nathaniel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
