Tj Watson

TJ Watson is a highly experienced engineering leader specializing in mechanical design for automotive computing systems. Currently serving as the Senior Staff Hardware Tech Lead Manager at Aurora since January 2021, TJ leads a team of Mechanical Engineers in developing next-generation autonomous computing technology, focusing on computer and adjacent systems module design. Prior to Aurora, TJ held various roles at Uber Advanced Technologies Group, including Senior Autonomy Hardware Engineer, where responsibilities included leading hardware components for self-driving systems and mentoring engineering teams. Earlier career experiences include internships and positions at Disney Research, Boston Engineering, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where TJ contributed to robotics and integrated product development. TJ holds a Bachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
