Denise Mullen

Denise Mullen has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Denise started their career as the President of DMD Management Ltd in 2005. Denise also worked as a Senior Research Associate at Decision . Partners Inc., where they focused on research and analysis. In 2007, they served as the Executive Director of West Coast Aquatic, a marine, community, and indigenous non-profit organization.

Denise's experience expands into the field of environmental sustainability and indigenous relations, as they held the position of Director at the Business Council of British Columbia and later as Director of Strategic Projects at Ausenco. Denise also served as a board member for the Pacific Energy Innovation Association and the Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals Society.

Denise's passion for increasing physical activity and participation in sports among Indigenous youth in Canada led their to become the Vice President of Strategy and Programs at MendCanada, a non-profit organization aimed at building life skills and improving high-school graduation rates. Additionally, they served as a Member of the Discipline Committee at the Engineering and Geoscientists of BC.

Overall, Denise Mullen has a wide range of experience in leadership, project management, research, and environmental sustainability, with a particular focus on Indigenous relations and community development.

Denise Mullen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Statistics and Economics from the University of Guelph's College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. Denise also has a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Victoria. Denise has pursued additional certification in various fields, including Negotiation and Mediation from the Justice Institute of British Columbia and Plain Writing from Simon Fraser University. Currently, they are enrolled in the Indigenous Canada program at the University of Alberta and pursuing a certificate in Reconciliation Education from the First Nations University of Canada, both expected to be completed in 2022.
