Simon Anderson

Simon Anderson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in economic, trade, and legal sectors, currently serving as a Counsellor for Economic and Trade at the Australian Embassy in Indonesia since July 2022. Prior to this, Simon held various significant roles, including Director of the SES/HOM Section at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, where strategic human resource management was a key focus. Simon also served as First Secretary & Deputy Permanent Representative at the Australian High Commission in Nairobi, promoting Australia's interests in East Africa and acting as Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Environment Programme and UN-Habitat. Previous positions include Executive Officer at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Senior Lawyer at the Australian Government Solicitor, and Legal Counsel at CSIRO. Simon holds a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Music from the University of Melbourne.
