Richard Saw

Richard Saw has extensive experience in the field of sports medicine. Richard currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Gymnastics Australia since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Lead Physician in Sports Medicine at the Australian Institute Of Sport starting in 2020. Richard has also served as the Athletics Australia Paralympics Team Doctor for Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 since August 2021.

From 2016 to 2020, Richard worked at the Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre, where they held the roles of Doctor-Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician and Doctor-Sports and Exercise Medicine Registrar. Before that, they were the Australian Men's Cricket Team Doctor at Cricket Australia from 2015 to 2020.

Richard's other notable positions include serving as the Team Doctor at North Melbourne Football Club from November 2015 to October 2017, as well as being the Chief Medical Officer for AFL Umpires from February 2015 to February 2017. Richard has also worked as a Doctor-Sports and Exercise Medicine Registrar at Lifecare Ashburton and Alphington Sports Medicine Clinic from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, they served as the Team Doctor for Victorian Metropolitan under 16s at AFL Victoria from March 2014 to September 2015.

Richard Saw has a Bachelor's Degree in MBBS (Hons) from UNSW. Richard is also a Fellow of the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Medicine Physicians.
