Kar Mei Tang

Kar Mei Tang (PhD) serves as the Head of Oceania at Principles for Responsible Investment since July 2022 and Co-Chair at the International Women's Development Agency (IWDA) since October 2024. Additional roles include Advisory Committee Member at the Australian Sustainable Finance Institute and Advisory Council Member at Gateway Bank, both since August and September 2021, respectively. Kar Mei holds leadership positions as Deputy Chair of the National Committee at Women in Economics Network, Chair of the NSW chapter, and Secretary. An Advisory Board Member for the Property and Real Estate Advisory Board at Deakin University, Kar Mei also served as a Councillor for the Economic Society of Australia (NSW) and as a Human Research Ethics Committee Member at Sydney Children's Hospitals Network. Past contributions include committee memberships in ISO and Standards Australia focused on Circular Economy initiatives. Kar Mei's educational background features a PhD in Economics from the University of Sydney, a Master of Applied Statistics from The Australian National University, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) in Finance from the University of Melbourne.
