John Prowse

John Prowse is an experienced diplomat and corporate leader currently serving as Consul General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) since September 2021. Prior to this role, John held various senior positions at Woodside Energy from August 2012 to March 2022, including Senior Government Relations Adviser and Country Manager for Timor-Leste. John's governmental experience includes serving as an Executive Officer and Political Analyst at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade from February 2005 to August 2012. Earlier in their career, John worked as a Buying Controller at Penguin Books Ltd. John's educational background includes an MBA and dual Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Arts from The University of Western Australia, along with a Graduate Diploma in Education (Languages) from Edith Cowan University.
