Ian Plummer

Ian Plummer has extensive experience in the automotive industry, currently serving as a Non-Executive Director at The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) since October 2021 and as Commercial Director at Auto Trader UK since February 2017. Prior to these roles, Plummer held significant positions at Volkswagen Group UK Ltd, where responsibilities included Head of Sales Operations and Head of Retail Operations, overseeing substantial sales and dealer networks. Plummer’s career also includes executive roles at Renault UK Ltd and Renault Retail Group, focusing on commercial operations and dealership management. Earlier experience includes marketing and sales management roles in both the automotive and paint industries. Ian Plummer holds an MBA from IMD Theseus Institute and a BA in European Studies from Loughborough University.
