Nicola van Moon

Nicola van Moon is a mechanical engineer currently working at Avalanche Energy since May 2023, previously serving as a mechanical engineering intern. A graduate of Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Nicola held roles as a course assistant in various subjects, including Quantitative Engineering Analysis and Introduction to Sensors Instrumentation and Measurement. Internship experience includes research and design at Soliyarn, where the feasibility of screen printing conductive ink was evaluated, and research in the Olin Laboratory focused on a soft robotic glove for children with cerebral palsy, which earned a Clare Boothe Luce Research Award. Additional experience includes project management for sustainable cabin construction at Woodland Harvest Mountain Farm and contributions to math education research. Early roles include summer camp counseling at CAMP 510, emphasizing mentorship and facilitation skills.
