Jesse Suarez

Jesse Suarez has extensive work experience in various legal and managerial roles. Jesse is currently serving as the General Counsel & Principal Broker at AvantStay, where they lead the Legal and Brokerage teams, overseeing commercial transactions, licensing compliance, and litigation needs. Prior to this, they were the VP Legal at AvantStay.

From 2016 to 2021, Jesse worked at Starcity, where they held the position of General Counsel, COO & Cofounder. During their time at Starcity, they played a key role in defining the coliving asset class, handling venture capital transactions, real estate deals, and litigation strategies.

Before Starcity, Jesse worked in a variety of roles at different startups. From 2013 to 2016, they operated their own legal consulting firm, providing services like litigation strategy consulting and drafting legal documents. Jesse also worked as a Venture Associate and Managing Attorney at Seedchange, a broker-dealer focusing on seed-staged companies, and served as a Director overseeing coworking operations at The Vault in San Francisco.

Jesse's early career includes serving as an Associate Attorney at Bonne Bridges Mueller O'Keefe & Nichols, specializing in medical malpractice and professional liability defense. Jesse also worked as a Law Clerk/Summer Associate at the same firm.

Throughout their career, Jesse has showcased expertise in legal matters, real estate transactions, venture capital, and operations management.

Jesse Suarez completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2006 to 2008. Jesse then pursued a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of California, Davis - School of Law, graduating in 2012. Jesse has additional certifications as an Attorney from the State Bar of California and as an Attorney (Inactive) from the State Bar of Nevada. Jesse also holds certifications as a Broker from the Hawaii Real Estate Commission and the California Department of Real Estate.
