Emily Deardo

Emily DeArdo is an accomplished author with extensive experience in writing, research, and communication. At Ave Maria Press, Emily has been an author since March 2019. Simultaneously, involvement with Take Up and Read began in November 2017, where Emily serves as a researcher, editor, and writer, focusing on devotional materials for Catholic women that emphasize the practice of lectio divina. Emily's earlier roles include food writer for Real Housekeeping e-magazine and various positions within the Ohio Senate from 2005 to 2015, encompassing legislative support and communications. Emily's career commenced as an intern in Congressman David L. Hobson's office. Emily holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Political Science from Capital University, earned in 2004.
