Gary Martin has over 30 years of work experience in the aviation industry. Gary began their career in 1988 as Airbus A300 Fleet Technical Manager for Eastern Airlines. In 1991, they joined American Airlines as Lead Engineer and Aircraft Engineer. From 1999 to 2003, they worked for America West Airlines in various roles, including Senior Director of Base Maintenance, Senior Director of Engineering and Technical Support, and Director of Aircraft and Powerplant Engineering. In 2003, they moved to Honeywell Aerospace where they held three positions, including Vice President of Regional Aircraft & Components, Vice President of Air Transport & Regional Customer and Product Support, and Director of Customer and Product Support. In 2010, they became Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Service Programs for Bombardier Aerospace. In 2016, they were Vice President of Operations, Europe, Middle East, and Africa for Rapiscan Systems. Since 2017, they have been Managing Director of Engineering and Quality Assurance for Delta Air Lines. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Avelo Airlines as Vice President of Technical Operations.
Gary Martin obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 1981 and 1986. Gary then obtained an MBA from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University between 2007 and 2009. Martin also holds a FAA Airframe and Powerplant License from the Federal Aviation Administration, as well as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
