Communication Relations & Events Manager at Avenidas

Monica Davis is currently the Communication Relations & Events Manager at Avenidas, a position they have held since 2014. Prior to that, they were with Los Altos Community Foundation as an administrator from 2010-2014. Monica assisted the Executive Director and aided in the administration of the mission of the Board of Directors. Monica also interacted with founders and members, did special events planning including monthly mixers, and assisted the Development Director in annual Gala events. From 2009-2010, Monica worked as a CELDT Tester for Sunnyvale School District where they implemented and tested English as second language students for proper placement and evaluation.

From 1994-2009, Monica was with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage where they started as a Marketing Manager. In this role they assisted the Director of Operations in corporate projects, supervised Front Desk staff and provided backup, provided technical/software support for the agents, hired and trained weekend staff, and coordinated weekly office meetings taking notes for reports. Monica also was responsible for designing and writing copy for property advertising, proofreading ad copy, maintaining the company website, updating it weekly with open houses, and photography of properties. In addition, they were the on-site graphic designer for 75 agents (brochures and direct mail pieces), community calendar coordinator (annual), responsible for all aspects of design, production and distribution, and special events coordinator – anniversary parties, company picnics, seminars. Lastly, they were the liaison to advertising and P.R. agencies and publications as well as the Corporate Marketing & Human Resources Departments.

Monica Davis has a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and Marketing from San Jose State University.

Monica Davis reports to Amy Yotopoulos, President & CEO. They work with Kristina Lugo - VP, Individual & Family Services, John Sink - VP, Enrichment Services, and Nancy Keegan - Director, Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center.
