Richard Gilpin

Richard Gilpin is a seasoned professional in Defense Acquisition and Systems Engineering with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as a Senior Operations Research Analyst at AVIAN since September 2018, Richard provides direct support to the Department of Defense and the Naval Air Systems Command while facilitating the transition to Model Based Systems Engineering. Richard also holds the position of Deputy Program Manager for the CH-53K Heavy Lift Helicopter at Sikorsky Aircraft. Prior experience includes founding Jet REALM Consulting to share expertise in Defense Acquisition, serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Air Programs, and holding high-level positions at the Naval Air Systems Command and the Department of the Navy. Richard holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and a Master’s in Systems Engineering Management from the University of Southern California.
