Tara Strickland

Tara Strickland has a diverse work experience. Tara started their career as a Cultural Events Series - Front of House Manager at Frostburg State University from 2004 to 2006. Tara then worked as a Communications Specialist at Wyle from 2008 to 2011. Following that, they joined AVIAN in 2011 and held various roles including Lead Strategic Communications/Multimedia Specialist from 2011 to 2013, Director of Communications from 2013 to 2022, Senior Director of Strategic Communications from 2022 to 2023, and currently serves as the Vice President of Employee Experience at AVIAN. Tara'swork at AVIAN involved providing communication plans and visual multimedia products for the Department of Defense.

Tara Strickland has a diverse educational background. Tara attended Purdue University from 2017 to 2020, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Strategic Communication Management with a 4.0 GPA. During their time at Purdue, they also earned a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication Management in 2017. Prior to their studies at Purdue, Tara attended Frostburg State University from 2003 to 2007, where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies. Tara also briefly attended La Trobe University in 2005, where they studied Visual Communications. Additionally, Tara obtained a Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner certification from Prosci in January 2021.
