William Garvey has extensive experience in aviation journalism, serving as a columnist for Aviation Week Network since January 2015. Previously, Garvey held the role of Editor-in-Chief at Business & Commercial Aviation from 2000 until December 2020 and also worked as a Senior Editor at Reader's Digest from 1990 to 2000. Additional contributions include serving as a contributing writer for various notable outlets such as NPR, The Discovery Channel, Air & Space Smithsonian, Hemispheres, and Popular Mechanics between 1985 and 2000. Garvey's editorial leadership extends to Flying as Editor-in-Chief (1988-1990) and to FlightSafety International as Director of Marketing Services/Communications (1985-1988), along with serving as Editor at Professional Pilot magazine from 1977 to 1985. Garvey holds a BA in History from Belmont Abbey.
