Suresh Subbaratinam D.Sc.

Suresh Subbaratinam D.Sc. has over 25 years of experience in the field of information security, risk management, and cybersecurity. Currently, they serve as the Chief Technology Officer at Avint. Previously, they worked as an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity at Marymount University and founded Cernunt Consulting. Suresh has also held senior positions at companies such as CACI International Inc, ManTech, Northrop Grumman, Freddie Mac, America Online, Ramco Systems, and Microland Limited. Throughout their career, Suresh has led various architecture and integration efforts, designed and implemented state-of-the-art solutions, managed compliance and risk programs, and served in technical and management roles. Suresh has extensive experience in working with a wide range of security tools, conducting risk assessments, and providing technical support to clients. Suresh has a strong background in designing security solutions and has worked with clients from various industry verticals across the Asia Pacific, US, and Europe.

Suresh Subbaratinam D.Sc. has a diverse education history in the field of cybersecurity and electrical engineering. Suresh obtained their Doctor of Science degree in Cybersecurity from Marymount University, studying from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in CyberSecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus, graduating in the years 2012 to 2014. In their earlier years, they attended the Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering & Technology (ACCET) from 1983 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (BE).

In addition to their formal degrees, Suresh Subbaratinam also holds several certifications in information security and technology. Suresh obtained the Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) certification from ISACA in March 2009. Prior to that, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification in September 2007. In 2004, they acquired the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA. Suresh Subbaratinam also holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification, which they obtained from ISC2 in October 2001. Suresh further specialized in information security architecture and management by earning the Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP) and Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP) certifications from ISC2 in February 2005.
