Arnil Paras

Arnil Paras, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in academia and non-profit organizations. Arnil currently serves as the Head of AVPN Academy at AVPN and as the Philippine Country Director. Prior to this, they worked as an Assistant Professor and the Director of Master in Development Management at the Asian Institute of Management. Arnil also served as the PhD Research Manager for Social Entrepreneurship and Post-Disaster Management at City University of Hong Kong. Additionally, Dr. Paras worked as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Law and Governance at the University of Asia and the Pacific, and as the Founder and Executive Director of Development Internship International. Arnil has also been a PhD Researcher at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a University Lecturer and Institute Secretary at the Institute of Political Economy at the University of Asia and the Pacific.

Arnil Paras, Ph.D., has an extensive education history. In 2000, they began their undergraduate studies at the University of Asia and the Pacific, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Economics. Arnil successfully completed this program in 2003.

Building upon their undergraduate studies, Paras enrolled in the University of Asia and the Pacific once again in 2003, pursuing a Master of Arts degree in International Relations and Development. Arnil completed this program in 2005.

Paras then went on to pursue further education at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In 2010, they began their studies at LSE and earned a Master of Science degree in Political Economy of Late Development in 2011.

Continuing their academic journey, Paras returned to LSE for a Ph.D. course work, specializing in the fields of Development Economics, Comparative Politics, and International Development. Arnil pursued this program from 2011 to 2014.

In 2015, Paras joined City University of Hong Kong to pursue a Ph.D. in Public Policy, with a focus on Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation. Arnil successfully completed this program in 2018, earning their Ph.D.
