Mike Callis has over three decades of work experience, primarily in the aerospace and defense industry. Mike currently holds the position of Vice President of Air Force Portfolio at AVT Simulation, where they are responsible for developing the company's presence in the US Air Force realm. Prior to this, they worked at Delaware Resource Group as the Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Program Manager, where they played a key role in doubling the company's revenue over a five-year period and served as the labor relations contact and lead negotiator for nearly 100 collective bargaining agreements. Mike also has experience as a Vice President at AAR Integrated Technologies, where they led a team of program managers and was involved in various projects, including the development and integration of the US Army's THAAD missile defense systems. Earlier in their career, Mike served in the United States Air Force, holding positions such as Director, Executive Secretariat, Deputy Inspector General, and Deputy Director, Future Operations, among others. Mike has demonstrated leadership and expertise in personnel management, strategic planning, operations, and budget execution.
Mike Callis has a diverse education history. Mike first attended Auburn University from 1978 to 1982, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, they attended the University of Southern California in 1990 for a brief period, focusing on Safety Program Management and Mishap Investigation. In 1993 to 1997, Callis pursued a Master of Science degree in Aviation Sciences from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Later, from 2004 to 2005, they attended Air War College, specializing in Strategic Studies, and completed a Master of Science degree. Lastly, from 2011 to 2013, Callis attended The University of Alabama in Huntsville for Program Management and MS Project Courses as well as Continuing Professional Education.
