Edwina Brown

Professor Edwina Brown’s main research interests are peritoneal dialysis, dialysis outcomes in older people, and renal palliative care. She is currently the principal investigator for the study Kidney Transplantation in Older People (KTOP). She organizes an annual meeting on Renal Supportive Care and co-organizes the UK PD Academy. She co-chaired the ISPD guideline committee (2014-2020) and has overseen the development of the 2020 guideline on ‘Prescribing high quality, goal-directed peritoneal dialysis. She is the co-chair of the KDIGO controversies conference on symptom-based complications in dialysis (May 2022) and is the president-elect for the ISPD (2020-2022); she will become the president in August 2022.
