Liz Soutar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Liz most recently worked at Aware Super as a Design Specialist starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Deloitte Digital as a Design Specialist from 2018 to 2023.
In 2018, Liz worked at Perpetual Curiosity pty ltd as a Curiosity Consultant, specializing in Human Centred Design (HCD) for financial services. Liz helped businesses understand their customers through non-traditional research techniques.
Before that, Liz took an adventure with their family to country France from 2016 to 2018, creating a positive lasting impact. Liz also worked at Commonwealth Bank - Wealth Business as part of the Digital Customer Experience - Wealth team from 2014 to 2016.
Liz's career in customer centred design and innovation began in 2000 when they joined Egg as a Customer Innovation Manager. Liz used Customer Centred Design to inform the future direction of the business. In 2004, Liz's prototype was presented by Bill Gates at the London Developers conference.
Prior to Egg, they worked at BT Financial Group from 2007 to 2014, leading and creating the first in-house Customer Centred Design team in a large Australian corporate.
Liz's early career includes working as the Head of Marketing, Mutual Funds at Deutsche Asset Management from 1999 to 2000, and as a Vice President at BT from 1991 to 1999. Overall, Liz's extensive experience in Human Centred Design and innovation has shaped their expertise in creating relevant customer experiences.
Liz Soutar attended UNSW from 1988 to 1990, where they completed a degree in Commerce. Their field of study focused on Marketing and Economics.
