System Architecture & Analysis Manager at Axiom Space

Adam Nelson is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in system architecture, mechanical engineering, and project management. Currently serving as the System Architecture & Analysis Manager at Axiom Space since July 2021, Adam has previously held various roles within the organization, including System Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer - Mechanical Integration Technical Lead. Prior to Axiom, Adam was a Senior R&D Systems & Mechanical Engineer at Sandia National Laboratories, where leadership of multidisciplinary teams and development of mechanical requirements for weapon systems were key responsibilities. Adam's earlier experience includes a Mechanical R&D Engineering Co-op at Abbott and numerous academic projects, showcasing strong technical expertise in design optimization, finite element analysis, and project controls. Adam holds a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
