Joel Maizel

Joel A. Maizel is a Managing Director at Axonic Capital in the business development group. Prior to joining Axonic in 2016, Mr. Maizel was an Executive Director in Prime Brokerage at Morgan Stanley where he specialized in liquid hedge fund strategies. This included working with hedge fund clients to develop tailored fund raising strategies to meet their individual goals, and assisting institutional investors to find skilled hedge funds to match their investment interests. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Maizel was a Director in Prime Services at Barclays, where he led capital introduction efforts for quantitative equities, futures and macro hedge fund strategies. Mr. Maizel was previously Head of Capital Introductions at MF Global. Mr. Maizel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arizona, and a Juris Doctor degree from the Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law.
