Akshay Raj

Akshay Raj is an experienced director in systems engineering, currently leading the customer solution architecture and delivery team at Axyom.Core since April 2024, focusing on 4G/5G containerized packet core network functions for a Tier 1 Service Provider. Prior to this role, Akshay served as Director of Systems Engineering at Casa Systems, Inc. from September 2020 to April 2024, overseeing similar deployments across various service providers. Akshay's career includes leadership as Director of Solutions Architecture at Mavenir, where responsibilities included driving design workshops and developing high-level design documents. Previous positions also include Systems Engineering Manager and Senior Systems Engineer at Casa Systems, as well as Senior Network Consulting Engineer at Cisco Systems, contributing to the deployment of Cisco ASR5000 Mobile Packet Core gateways. Akshay began the career as a Teaching Assistant and interned at several companies, holding a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
