Arul Shanmugasundaram

Dr. Arul Shanmugasundaram in his current role is responsible for the BD, Engineering/Technology, IT and Asset Management functions in Ayana. In his earlier stint of 7 years at Tata Power he has held various roles leading Technology, EPC BD, EPC and Manufacturing as COO. He has been in involved in the commissioning of more than 2.5 GWp of Utility Scale projects and several hundred MWp of rooftop projects. He was also leading the cell and module manufacturing and also involved in various capacity expansion projects, he was part of the leadership team that transformed Tata Power Solar from manufacturing org to a leading Utility-scale and rooftop EPC and grew revenues from 550 crore to multi fold and a strong EPC order book at end of FY20. The profitability and Roe/ roce improved significantly during his seven year tenure in Tata Power Solar. Dr Arul established a unique module mounting structure business in Tata International and introduced new foundation concepts and materials in Indian market from 2010-2013. Prior to that he was at Applied Materials in the United States for 15 years focused on semiconductor equipment and process development up to 32nm technology nodes. For the last three years in his Applied Materials tenure he was in India to setup the first 5.72 m2 thin film a-Si line. He has a B. Tech degree from IIT Madras and Masters and Ph. D from Cornell. He has more than 40 patents and several publications.
