Burton Williams

Burton Williams has a rich and diverse work experience spanning many years. Burton is currently the Chief Executive Officer at The Ayers Foundation, a role they began in 2023. Prior to this, Burton held various positions at TrustCore, starting as a Financial Planner in August 2020 and moving up to become the Director of TrustCore Institutional and Lead Financial Planner in November 2021. From 2011 to 2020, they worked at Lipscomb University, where they served as the Associate Vice President, Vice President (Interim), and finally as the Associate Dean in the College of Business and the College of Education. Before joining Lipscomb University, Burton was an Associate Vice President at Freed-Hardeman University from 1998 to 2010. Burton started their career as a Financial Planner at Wachovia Securities Financial Network in 1994 and worked there until 1998.

Burton Williams received a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change from Lipscomb University in 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Financial Planning and Services from the College for Financial Planning in 2003. In 1994, Williams earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting from Freed-Hardeman University. Burton'searlier education was completed at Providence Day School from 1986 to 1990. Additionally, Williams holds certifications including the Reeher Prime Officer Award in 2018 from Reeher and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation from the CFP Board.
