Martin Hammond

Head Of Health, Safety And Wellbeing at Ayrshire College

Martin Hammond has a diverse work experience in the field of health and safety. Martin started their career as a Trainee SHEQ Compliance Manager at EPSCO ltd in 2008, where they focused on creating and implementing an Integrated Management System for health and safety, quality, and environment. Martin then moved on to Quarriers in 2009 and served as a Health and Safety Advisor, assisting the Health and Safety Manager in implementing and monitoring policies and procedures. In 2013, they joined Rathbone as a Health and Safety Officer, responsible for conducting internal and external audits, monitoring compliance, and producing reports. Finally, in 2014, Martin joined Ayrshire College and has held various roles such as Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Advisor, Manager, and currently as the Head of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing.

Martin Hammond has a comprehensive education history in the field of risk management. Martin first attended Glasgow Caledonian University from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Risk Management. Following this, from 2008 to 2009, Martin attended Reid Kerr College, where they pursued the NEBOSH General Safety Certificate. Lastly, in 2014, they attended Oracle Safety Associates for a short period to earn a NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate.
