Klara De Rauw is a skilled molecular biologist with extensive experience in the field of microbiology and bioinformatics. Currently serving as a Molecular Biologist at AZ Sint-Lucas Gent since January 2021, Klara previously held the position of Bioinformatics Product Specialist at Applied Maths, where responsibilities included customer support for the BioNumerics software. Prior to that, Klara worked at UZ Brussel from January 2012 to January 2019, focusing on the validation and implementation of molecular diagnostic assays and the epidemiologic typing of Shiga toxin/verocytotoxin producing Escherichia coli as part of a national reference center. Klara holds a PhD in medical sciences with a specialization in Microbiology from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, alongside a master's degree in Biomedical Sciences: Immunology and Infection and a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Ghent University.
