Harini Nagendra is a distinguished academic currently serving as the Director of the Research Center at Azim Premji University, Bangalore, since June 2020, while also holding the position of Professor there since January 2014. With extensive experience in research coordination, Harini served as the Asia Research Coordinator at Indiana University Bloomington from September 2000 to September 2015, and as a Hubert H. Humphrey Distinguished Visiting Professor at Macalester College in late 2013. Prior roles include being a DST Ramanujan Fellow at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment from March 2009 to July 2013, and a Society in Science: Branco Weiss Fellow at ETH Zurich from September 2003 to August 2008. Harini holds a PhD in Ecology and a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from the Indian Institute of Science, along with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Chemistry, and Zoology from Bangalore University.
