Matt Davidson

Matt Davidson has a strong background in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Matt is the Co-founder and CEO of Azora Therapeutics since March 2019, and previously founded MGD Ventures in September 2018. Matt was also the Founder and CEO of Verrica Pharmaceuticals from August 2013 to 2020.

Before entering the business world, Matt worked as a Scientist at Applied Immunology from July 2013 to December 2013. Matt was responsible for conducting research and providing support for the development of biological therapeutics, vaccines, and diagnostics.

Matt's academic background includes completing a PhD in Immunology at Stanford University from November 2007 to December 2012. Matt'sthesis focused on studying the interaction between T-cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells in cancer and autoimmune diseases, with a particular focus on Multiple Sclerosis.

Early in their career, Matt gained experience as a Research Technician at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute from 2006 to 2007.

In addition, Matt founded Think Gum LLC in 2007 and served as Founder until April 2019.

Matt Davidson completed their education with a BA (with High Honors) in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2002 to 2006. Matt also attended Windward High School during the same period. Later, from 2008 to 2012, they pursued a PhD in Immunology from Stanford University School of Medicine. In 2010, they briefly participated in the Ignite Program in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
