Timur Akazhanov

Timur Akazhanov is currently serving as General Partner at B Capital, focusing on strategic growth equity since September 2024. Prior experience includes a role as Managing Director at H.I.G. Capital from July 2020 to December 2023, specializing in private equity and technology, and a similar position at Blackstone from February 2013 to January 2020. Timur also held the title of Vice President at Bain Capital between September 2007 and February 2013, and began the career as a Business Analyst at McKinsey and Co. from September 2005 to June 2007. Early experience includes working as a Research Assistant at the National Bureau of Economic Research from September 2003 to August 2004, focusing on labor economics research. Academic qualifications consist of an MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School and an AB in Economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard University, along with an International Baccalaureate diploma from Pearson College UWC and a High School Diploma with Honors from 105 Gymnasium in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
